SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Health Shreveport is helping students explore future careers in medicine through its upcoming College and Healthcare Readiness Boot Camp.
The program is designed for middle and high school students interested in healthcare and aims to better prepare them for educational and career opportunities in the field.
“We wanted to design a program that would assist family members with shaping and grooming their young children who may have an interest in medicine and health care careers,” said Toni Thibeaux, EdD, LSU Health Shreveport Student and Community Engagement assistant vice chancellor.
The boot camp will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will focus on students in seventh grade through high school, providing resources and guidance to help them prepare for careers in healthcare.
