SHREVEPORT, La. — A local church is inviting the community to come together for prayer, fellowship and teaching during the 2026 Prayer Warriors Prayer Summit this week.
Greenwood Acres Full Gospel Baptist Church will host the free event Wednesday, Aug. 19, Saturday, Aug. 22, and Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Bishop Fred A. Caldwell Sr. Family Life Centre at 7530 Greenwood Road in Shreveport.
This year’s summit is centered on the theme, “Cultivating a Fresh Aroma of Heaven’s Sweet Fragrance Through Prayer.”
Organizers say the summit will explore the biblical significance of the Ark of the Covenant, also known as the Tabernacle, and its role in worship and the history of Israel.
Speakers will use props to help explain the structure, artifacts and contents associated with the Ark of the Covenant, as well as its symbolic relevance and significance today.
The event is free and open to people of all ages. Parents are encouraged to bring their children and teens, with activities and outdoor games planned for younger attendees.
A free continental breakfast also will be provided Saturday, Aug. 22.
Organizers say the goal is to provide an opportunity for the community to pray, learn and connect through faith.
