SHREVEPORT, La. - The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce is taking a major step forward in its ongoing building renovation project, officially relocating from its longtime headquarters, allowing construction crews to begin the most significant phase of the transformation.
Chamber staff have moved across the street to a temporary office location at 416 Travis Street, Suite 505, where they will operate while renovations continue on the historic Chamber Building.
The relocation marks a milestone in a comprehensive renovation effort designed to modernize the facility and create a premier gathering and meeting space for the region.
During the transition, Chamber officials said staff will be offline for the first half of the week as internet and communication systems are reestablished. The organization expects to be fully operational again by Wednesday. Existing phone numbers and email addresses will remain unchanged.
Chamber leaders say the completed project will transform the building into a modern, state-of-the-art venue designed to support business development, collaboration, and community engagement.
"This is an opportunity for us to renovate and restore a 100-year-old building that has been a real gem for downtown," said President Tim Magner.
Additional information about renovation progress is expected to be released as construction continues.
