SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport Fire Department extended the application deadline for individuals interested in a career with the city.
The new deadline to apply is June 15 at 11:59 p.m. The department is seeking highly motivated individuals who are committed to serving their community with honor, integrity and respect. Applicants who possess Emergency Medical Technician certification are strongly encouraged to apply, as EMT candidates are preferred during the hiring process.
A career with the Shreveport Fire Department offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of citizens while working alongside a team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting life and property.
"We are looking for individuals who are ready to answer the call to serve and who have a passion for helping others," said Fire Chief Reese. "By extending the application deadline, we hope to provide additional opportunities for qualified candidates to join our ranks and begin a rewarding career in the fire service."
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications by June 15 at 11:59 p.m. Applications can be submitted online through the Shreveport Firefighter Application Portal. Individuals can also call the recruiter at 318-918-5274.Â
