SHREVEPORT, La. — A man previously arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on Line Avenue on June 18 has been released from jail after new evidence surfaced, according to the Shreveport Police Department.
Tyrone Thomas was released from custody after Violent Crimes detectives uncovered information indicating that another individual is suspected of firing the shots that killed the victim. The homicide occurred in the 8000 block of Line Avenue.
Despite his release, police stated that investigators have not eliminated Thomas from potential criminal responsibility. The investigation remains active as detectives continue to examine his involvement and follow additional leads.
Department officials emphasized that further arrests and charges may be forthcoming as the investigation develops.
