SHREVEPORT, La. - The suspect in Thursday's deadly shooting and high speed chase has been named by the Shreveport Police Department.
Thomas Lemons, 23, allegedly shot and killed a woman while chasing her through a neighborhood.
SPD were responding to the 5800 block of Attaway Street when they located the victim's vehicle near the intersection of 61st Street and Linwood Avenue.
Police say the victim's vehicle, while being chased by Lemons, crossed into oncoming traffic, crashing into another vehicle. That driver, originally reported dead, was revived at the scene and taken to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. SPD say he remains hospitalized.
After the collision, police say Lemons exited his vehicle and continued firing at random cars and pedestrians in the area.
In total, four victims were hit by gunfire. Three of those victims sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Lemons was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of second-degree murder.
SPD anticipate additional charges as the investigation continues.
