DETROIT — Just hours after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced that she was endorsing U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens of Birmingham in her fight to win the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate race, the pair appeared at Teamsters hall in the Motor City to flex a bit.

At a small meet and greet event with supporters and surrogates at the Michigan Conference of Teamsters Welfare Fund hall in Detroit, the energy in the room was palpable, and gave Whitmer a chance to add some major fire to Stevens’ campaign in the final stretch of the August primary.
