A man pleaded guilty to a fatal hit-and-run involving a motorcycle driver in Boone County.
Donald J. Legleiter, 36, pleaded guilty on Friday to charges of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, property damage and leaving the scene of an accident causing physical injury, according to online court records.
His plea included reductions to the charges against him, such as the original second-degree murder charge becoming an involuntary manslaughter charge, documents said.
In July, Legleiter allegedly hit a man on a motorcycle on South Allen Street in McBaine, then struck the vehicle again before driving away, according to court documents. Deputies later found Legleiter's vehicle abandoned in a bean field, according to court documents.
