Gov. Mike Kehoe announced Monday afternoon Budget Director Dan Haug will retire, effective Oct. 1. Haug has 31 years of state government service, including 11 years in the budget director position, according to a news release from the Governor's communication office.
"Dan has served in this important role under multiple administrations with unwavering integrity and professionalism,"Â Kehoe said in the news release. "His deep understanding of the state budget has provided valuable guidance to state leaders and decision-makers throughout the ups and downs of Missouri's budget landscape."
According to the news release, Haug is the longest-serving budget director, having worked in the position under 4 governors over 11 years.Â
"I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to help these administrations craft state budgets that improved the lives of Missourians in countless ways," Haug said in the news release. "I want to thank the amazing team at Budget and Planning for all of their excellent work and service to the state."
With Haug's retirement, Missouri Department of Corrections Director Trevor Folay will serve as the new budget director.
An announcement on the appointment of the next Department of Corrections Director will be coming soon, according to the news release.Â
