A teenager accused of firing a gun at a vehicle near the Columbia Mall in January 2025 pleaded guilty Monday.
Samiyon Myers, 17, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault, armed criminal action and second-degree drug trafficking, and was sentenced to a total of 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, according to court records.
Myers was sentenced to five years for the assault charge, three years for the armed criminal action charge and 15 years for the drug trafficking charge, according to court records. The sentences for the assault charge and armed criminal actions were set to be served consecutively to each other but concurrently with the 15-year sentence.
Myers was one of six juveniles detained after shots were fired the evening of Jan. 19, 2025, in the 2100 block of West Worley Street, which is near the Columbia Mall, according to previous KOMU 8 reporting.
Myers, who was allegedly seen on Columbia Mall security video firing a handgun at a vehicle, was charged as an adult in May 2025, according to previous reporting. Myers was 16 at the time, according to previous reporting.
Myers made his guilty plea at a pre-trial conference Monday for a trial that was set to begin Tuesday, according to court records. He was initially charged with first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, shooting a firearm at a vehicle and delivery of a controlled substance, according to court documents.
