ANACONDA, Mont. — A pedestrian was struck and killed on MT-1 in the Anaconda area on August 21, according to the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP).
The driver was traveling south on a straight, level stretch of road in the left lane with the pedestrian standing in the middle of that same lane, MHP said.
Troopers said the driver tried to steer left to avoid the person. The front passenger side of the vehicle then hit the 61-year-old individual from Deer Lodge, who died at the scene.
The MHP report did not list speed, drugs and/or alcohol as factors in the crash.
