Bobcat Lakes Fire

The Bobcat Lakes Fire, burning 9,892 acres east of Wisdom, is now 40% contained according to an update from the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. 

In the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, the Bobcat Lakes fire burned over 8,000 acres so far. Sand Creek burned 16,000 acres. Evacuation orders are still in effect. Fire crews focused on structure protection and mop-up.

The Bobcat Fire grew to over 7,000 acres and Sand Creek grew to over 11,000 acres in Beaverhead County. Task forces from the State arrived to help with the two fires, along with spot fires. Evacuations were ordered for Elkhorn Hot Springs and Maverick Mountain areas.

In the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, the Bobcat Lakes fire grew to 5,500 acres. The Sand Creek Fire burned 9,000 acres so far. Fire crews prioritized structure protection in their ongoing efforts.
