'Hallowed Ground': A 70-Year Tradition Remembers Lives Lost on Montana Roads

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Members of the American Legion in Bozeman have continued a decades-old effort to place white crosses along Montana highways to honor people killed in crashes and remind drivers what is at stake on the road.  

The organization has marked highways in Montana for more than 70 years.
