Lake Helena causeway algae bloom prompts health warning

HELENA, Mont. — Lewis and Clark Public Health warned residents and visitors that a harmful algal bloom was confirmed at Lake Helena near the Causeway.

The health agency said the bloom raised concerns for people, pets and livestock, especially during hot and calm conditions when blue-green algae can grow quickly and produce toxins.
