Recent rain may bring temporary relief, but fire officials warn western Montana remains at high fire danger as fuels can dry quickly and storms deliver uneven moisture.

Recent storms soaked some spots and missed others nearby, leaving uneven moisture across the landscape. Officials said that patchy rain can make conditions look better than they are.
