The deadline for Montana’s secretary of state to certify November’s election ballots is Thursday, but there remain questions even following a court hearing Wednesday about whether Butte-Silver Bow voters will see a measure on their ballot aiming to restrict data centers.

Despite stating on Wednesday that signatures collected for the data centers ballot initiative didn’t meet the July 13 deadline established by state law, a district judge didn’t make a ruling about the petitioners’ lawsuit and the temporary restraining order issued last week.
