A federal judge has denied a National Park Service request to stall lawsuits challenging Yellowstone National Park’s 2024 Bison Management Plan.

U.S. District Court Judge Brian Morris ruled on July 21 that the stay, requested while the park completes a supplementary environmental impact statement due to later bison migrations in winter, “invites abuse of discretion” due to an indefinite timeline for completion of the research.
