Missoula County will not accept new data center applications for the next year after the Board of County Commissioners approved emergency zoning rules Thursday with the goal of developing new regulations around their operations.

While data center applications move forward in other parts of Montana like Yellowstone County, Missoula County became the first local government in Montana to enact a temporary pause on data centers.
