Billings is the Navy’s eighth stop in its Road Trip to 250 anniversary celebration, highlighting the “modern fleet and the sailors who keep it mission-ready,” the website states. Sailors made stops in Texas, Hawaii, Kentucky, North Carolina and Pennsylvania before making their way to Montana. Billings is the only stop in the Mountain West region, before going on to Vermont, Ohio, Delaware and Arizona.

“Participating in this Navy Week is a distinct honor, especially as it allows me to return to my hometown,” Chief Petty Officer Calvin Moseman, who graduated from West High, said on the website. “My family and friends often ask about my work and the broader mission of the Navy, and while I do my best to explain it, this event provides a unique opportunity to show them firsthand. It is a powerful way to amplify the Navy’s presence here in the Rocky Mountains.”
