When she first moved to Missoula in 2004, Missoula Redevelopment Agency Director Ellen Buchanan was amazed to find the lively, music-loving, arts-obsessed city didn’t have a signature event to highlight all its best features.

Now, with Buchanan’s guiding hand, Missoula’s River City Roots Fest is celebrating its 20th year of music, art, good food and community fun Aug 21-22.
