Snow dusts the top of the Highlands

Snow dusts the tops of the Highlands in Butte on June 30.

The recent three-day storm dumped multiple inches of rain on most of western Montana and even several inches of snow at higher elevations.

The precipitation event led to the temporary closure and evacuation of parts of Glacier National Park on Monday, and when the clouds parted in southwest Montana, residents caught sight of snow-capped peaks.
