Two wildfires continue to burn in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest — one in the Elkhorn Mountains and another in the Little Belt Mountains southeast of Showdown Ski Area.

The Queen Gulch fire, which started July 28 and is located 1.5 miles southeast of Crow Peak and about 4 miles east of the town of Elkhorn, is an estimated 8-9 acres in size as of Monday morning and is 0% contained, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Its cause remains unknown.
