THREE FORKS, Mont. – City officials warned the community on Tuesday about a scam targeting applicants for zoning permits or grant awardees. Scammers are reportedly sending fake invoices that claim to be from the city and demand money from the targeted recipients.

“We require payment for services UP FRONT, not after a decision has been made,” Three Forks officials stated. “These emails look pretty professional. They utilize the City seal, name specifics from the application, provide the applicant’s contact information.”
