LINCOLN — The fallout from alleged fraud involving three conservative-backed petitions seeking to reshape Lincoln local elections continues as the Democratic-led Lincoln City Council and Nebraska’s most influential Republican political consulting firm clash in the court of public opinion.

City Councilman Brody Weber hosted a press conference last week calling into question the ongoing investigation by Lancaster County law enforcement of fraudulent petition signatures for three Lincoln-focused petitions. He criticized the Good Government Lincoln petition leadership for restarting the signature gathering while the investigation continues.
