Nevada health officials are preparing to phase in sweeping new work requirements for the largest safety-net insurance program in the state, a move that will impact an estimated 280,000 Nevadans who benefited from expanded Medicaid coverage.

Under the tax and spending law President Donald Trump signed a year ago, Nevada and other states that expanded Medicaid to cover more low-income adults under the Affordable Care Act will be required to prove that those adults work, go to school or volunteer for at least 80 hours a month to maintain their coverage.
