(The Center Square) — New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is demanding the Trump administration provide details about proposed ICE facilities across the state as the federal agency prepares to ramp up immigration enforcement actions.

In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, Hochul questioned why New Yorkers are learning about plans by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to construct or expand at least three immigration detention facilities in Rochester, Batavia and Newburgh from news reports.
