(The Center Square) – Diesel fuel for traditional energy transportation in North Carolina has risen 11 cents in the last week while remaining more than a half-dollar below the record $5.81 per gallon set April 7.

Subsequently impacting the trucking industry and a number of household staples, the timing is significant as politicians from both sides of the aisle campaign relentlessly on affordability for families. The state’s voters begin getting absentee ballots in the mail in two weeks.
