ANTLERS, Okla. — Antlers Public Schools is working with law enforcement after a threat was made against some of its high school student-athletes and other students.
According to a statement from Antlers Public Schools, the threat reportedly involves students from another school district. Law enforcement agencies, the students directly involved and their parents have been notified.
“We are taking this matter seriously and are working closely with law enforcement and the other school district,” Superintendent Jack Ward and the Antlers Public Schools administration wrote.
A scheduled scrimmage between Antlers Public Schools and Hugo Public Schools has been canceled following concerns related to student safety.
Hugo Public Schools Superintendent Brandy Blalock wrote that the decision was made “out of an abundance of caution.”
The administrations of both districts are working together to address the situation and protect the well-being of students, staff and families.
Antlers Public Schools is asking anyone with information that may be relevant to provide it directly to a school administrator. The district plans to release additional information as appropriate.
