CANEY, Okla. — Caney Public Schools is investigating allegations of hazing, bullying and other misconduct following an extracurricular activity.
In a social media post, Superintendent Lori Delay said school officials received a report of the alleged misconduct Friday night.
School administrators are investigating the situation and working with local law enforcement. Parents of the students involved have also been contacted.
Student privacy laws limit the information the district can release about the investigation. Delay wrote that the district believes it is important “to communicate as openly as possible when concerns arise that may impact our school community.”
“There is nothing more important to our school team than providing a safe and welcoming environment for every student,” the statement reads.
The district said it is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for students, investigating reports thoroughly and taking appropriate action.
