(The Center Square) – The race for Texas’ U.S. Senate seat is considered a “toss-up” and the governor race moved to “leans right” for seats previously considered solid Republican, according to a new Cook Political Report analysis.

Attorney General Ken Paxton is trailing Democrat state Rep. James Talarico in the U.S. Senate race. Gov. Greg Abbott is statistically tied in some polls with his Democratic opponent, state Rep. Gina Hinojosa, for the first time in his political career.
