YOAKUM – Goliad opened its cross country season with a pair of top-three team finishes on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Bulldog Cross Country Invitational.

The Goliad varsity girls scored 71 points to finish third behind Victoria St. Joseph and Bellville, which each scored 65. Goliad’s five scoring runners combined for a time of 52 minutes, 8.19 seconds and averaged 10:25.64 over the 2,400-meter course.
