In the latest changes to Denton-area businesses, The Pony has saddled up, and Eagle Cawffee is working on expanding to two new locations. Medical City Denton has opened a new rehabilitation unit, and Denton County has added a Shake Shack.
Now open
The Pony, a family-ownedhybrid music venue, pizza spot and art bar, launched Sunday for a soft opening, and the official grand opening weekend is set for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28-29. It's on Russell Street between Hickory and Mulberry streets, in the former Vinyl Lounge space

Bubble tea shop Teaspoon opened a location in Rayzor Ranch Town Center, at 3400 N. Interstate 35, Suite 120, in late July. The California-based chain's menu features a series of signature chai drinks, custom lemonades, pastries and more.
The Shops at Highland Village welcomed a new location of burger chain Shake Shack earlier this month. It's off Village Parkway (FM2499) near Justin Road.

Beach Club Car Wash recently opened a location at 4722 FM720 in Cross Roads. The car wash company's first location opened in Crowley earlier this year, and it's set to continue expanding throughout North Texas, which will include a Denton location.
Hawaiian food chainMo' Bettahs now has a location in Argyle at 1228 FM407, Suite 130, in the center anchored by Tom Thumb near I-35W. This is the Utah-based company's first location in Denton County, and it specializes in Hawaiian-style plate lunches with meat options like teriyaki chicken or steak, chicken katsu and more, with rice and macaroni salad on the side.
Medical City Denton's new $15 million inpatient rehabilitation unit is now open. The facility provides rehabilitation services for adults recovering from a variety of conditions including stroke, neurological disorders, traumatic injury and other rehabilitation needs.

The Eagle Cawffee coffee cart located inside Studio LaSalle on the Square has closed after two years of operation. However, co-owners Francisco Delgado and Alyson Flores aim to open a brick-and-mortar location of the coffee shop at 119 Ave. A and a matcha bar called Malibu Matcha at 216 W. Mulberry St. in the coming months.

The Old Gulf Station north of the Square, at 301 N. Locust St., will eventually become an event space, according to the website for Denton County Events LLC. The event company's Denton Historic Tours is also advertising its "Spooks, Spirits, and Shadows Walking Tour" in October, which will bring downtown Denton's haunting historical stories to life.
Wholesale club Costco is working on plans for a possible location in Flower Mound off Dixon Lane, near Justin Road and Long Prairie Road (FM2499), according toThe Dallas Morning News.
