Greetings, and happy Friday!

Having access, with certain exceptions, to all court materials such as pleadings, motions, filings, orders, judgments, evidence and case metadata available through an online portal on a court’s website sounds optimal on the surface.

However, putting it into action raises too many concerns with judges and court clerks, which is why the Wyoming Judiciary Committee voted to not sponsor a public access courts bill for the upcoming legislative session next year.

In addition for today's Boomerang newsletter, Laramie and the University of Wyoming placed high on another national list of the best college towns in America. Business Insider recently placed Wyoming’s university city ninth on the “20 Best College Towns Where Life Revolves Around Their Universities.”

Also, some Wyoming lawmakers are discussing the state's current laws and possible legalization after federal marijuana declassification for medical purposes.

In sports, Adam Engel covered the season opener for Cowgirls soccer, which didn't disappoint when Alyssa Glover scored with 14 seconds left for a 1-0 win against Drake at home. Alex Taylor features Charlie Coenen, who is rising up the ranks in the Cowboys' wide receiver room during fall camp.

Have a great day, and enjoy the reading!
