The digital economy produces information at a staggering pace. Transactions, mobile apps, connected devices, streaming platforms and countless other activities continuously generate data in different formats and from different sources. The scale, speed and complexity of this information have grown far beyond what traditional computing systems were originally built to handle, giving rise to what is commonly known as Big Data.
