Despite almost half-a-year-long U.S.-Iran tensions and higher energy prices, Wall Street has stayed steady this year. State Street SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust SPY is up 12.8% so far this year (as of Aug. 11, 2026). Over the past month, the fund has gained 2.9%.

The all-world excluding U.S. ETF iShares MSCI ACWI ex US ETF ACWX has jumped 13.2% in the year-to-date frame (as of Aug. 11, 2026). This fund has advanced 3.8% over the past month. So, neither geopolitical tensions nor rising rate concerns have overshadowed the stock rally this year.
