MIÉRCOLES, 29 de mayo de 2024 (HealthDay News) -- La gripe aviar se ha detectado por primera vez en las alpacas, anunció el martes el Departamento de Agricultura de EE. UU. (USDA).
El NVSL agregó que "ha confirmado que la secuencia del genoma viral de estas muestras es la misma secuencia que circula actualmente en el ganado lechero... lo que es consistente con las secuencias de las aves de corral despobladas en este predio".
El USDA señaló que el hallazgo de otros animales infectados en la misma granja que las aves infectadas no fue inesperado.
Pero en los últimos dos años, el virus ha estado infectando a una gama más amplia de mamÃferos salvajes y de granja, lo que plantea preocupaciones de que podrÃa convertirse en un virus que se transmita fácilmente entre las personas, informó CNN .
A lo largo de los años se han confirmado casos humanos en todo el mundo, incluidos tres en los Estados Unidos, pero no se ha informado de transmisión de persona a persona en el brote actual de vacas lecheras.
