Duolingo, Inc. DUOL shares have gained 22.1% in the past three months, drawing attention to whether operating progress can support more upside. The rally has coincided with improving engagement and sharply lower costs for a key artificial intelligence feature.

The main question is whether those gains can outweigh slower bookings growth, heavier investment and a valuation premium that already discounts substantial execution.
