LUNES, 28 de octubre de 2024 (HealthDay News) -- El medicamento para perder peso Ozempic puede proteger contra la enfermedad renal en las personas obesas, muestra un estudio reciente.
"El medicamento tiene efectos directos sobre los parámetros de inflamación en el riñón, y reduce el tejido graso alrededor de los riñones, reduciendo la cantidad de proteÃna en la orina", dijo Heerspink. "E indirectamente porque reduce el peso y la presión arterial de los participantes".
Para el estudio, los investigadores reclutaron a 101 personas obesas con enfermedad renal crónica en Canadá, Alemania, España y los PaÃses Bajos, a partir de 2022.
La mitad recibió inyecciones de semaglutida durante 24 semanas, mientras que la otra mitad recibió un placebo.
