Jefferson County Clerk David Yates told lawmakers Tuesday that as a result of a review of registered voters’ information after a “clerical error” prevented a handful of voters from casting a ballot in the correct precinct, about 290 voters on the county line must now vote in Jefferson County rather than a surrounding county.

Earlier this year, Yates said “a clerical error by a former employee” prevented eight voters from casting a ballot in the 44th House District during Kentucky’s May primary. At the time, Yates had said 30 registered voters were assigned to an incorrect precinct and called for further review of registered voters’ precinct information within the state’s most populous county.
