Quantinuum Inc. QNT is scheduled to release second-quarter 2026 results after the closing bell on Aug. 11. The earnings report will cover the three months ended June 30 and will mark Quantinuum’s first quarterly earnings announcement since its public-market debut.
The upcoming release is likely to attract considerable attention because investors will receive their first post-IPO update on Quantinuum’s commercialization progress, expense trajectory, customer pipeline and capital-allocation priorities. The company’s bookings and the timing of revenue recognition are likely to have acted as more crucial factors in the second quarter than its quarterly earnings, given the early stage of the quantum-computing market.
Quantinuum priced its upsized initial public offering of 28 million Class A shares at $60 per share on June 3, raising gross proceeds of $1.68 billion before underwriting discounts and offering expenses.
How Are Estimates Poised for Quantinuum?
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for second-quarter 2026 earnings is pegged at a loss of 26 cents per share. The estimate has remained unchanged over the past 30 days. The consensus mark for second-quarter revenues is pegged at $7.8 million.

What to Expect From Quantinuum’s Q2 Results
Quantinuum entered the second quarter with modest recognized revenues but a substantially strengthened balance sheet following its IPO.
Based on Quantinuum's IPO prospectus, the company generated first-quarter 2026 net revenues of $5.2 million, down from $19.1 million in the prior-year period. The year-over-year decline primarily reflected the absence of a $16.5 million sales-type lease transaction that was recognized upfront in the first quarter of 2025. This comparison indicates that quarterly revenues can fluctuate sharply depending on the timing and structure of hardware agreements. Cloud-platform, research and support-services revenues increased by $2.5 million in the March quarter, partially offsetting the absence of the large prior-year transaction.
For the second quarter, revenue results are expected to be influenced by contributions from hardware access, cloud utilization, software, research services and support agreements. Further, the company commercially launched Helios in late 2025, with announced customers including AmgenAMGN, BMW Group, JPMorgan ChaseJPM and SoftBankSFTBY. This is also expected to have impacted the top-line performance in the second quarter.
Bookings will be another key metric to watch in the second-quarter results. Quantinuum reported bookings of $1.3 million in the first quarter, compared with $1.9 million a year earlier. However, full-year 2025 bookings totaled $79.3 million. Management defines bookings as the aggregate dollar value of customer contracts executed during a period, although their ultimate value can be affected by contract modifications and terminations.
First-quarter research and development expenses increased 53% year over year to $54.7 million, reflecting spending on outsourced research, personnel, facilities and materials for next-generation quantum systems. Sales and marketing expenses rose to $13.7 million from $3.4 million, while general and administrative expenses increased 58% to $8.7 million.
These trends suggest that operating losses are likely to have been substantial in the second quarter. Quantinuum has stated that it expects to incur losses for the foreseeable future as it invests in research, engineering, manufacturing readiness and commercialization.
For investors’ note, Quantinuum used $62.9 million of cash in operating activities and $22.7 million for capital expenditures during the first quarter. The company had $677 million in cash and cash equivalents as of March 31, before receiving the IPO proceeds.
QNT’s Price Performance
Quantinuum shares advanced 35.3% since their public-market inception, till June 30, the second quarter’s end, outperforming the Internet Software industry’s 5.6% return.

The strong debut indicates that investors have assigned a substantial premium to Quantinuum’s technology platform, commercial partnerships and long-term fault-tolerant quantum-computing roadmap. It also raises the sensitivity of the shares to execution, particularly because current revenues remain small relative to the company’s public-market valuation.
What the Zacks Model Unveils for QNT Stock
Our proven model does not conclusively predict an earnings beat for Quantinuum this time. The combination of a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) increases the odds of an earnings beat, which is not the case here.
Earnings ESP: Quantinuum has an Earnings ESP of 0.00%. You can uncover the best stocks before they’re reported with our Earnings ESP Filter.
Despite Quantinuum's differentiated technology, strategic partnerships and solid balance sheet, the stock already reflects high expectations following its strong debut. With limited revenue visibility, elevated operating losses and likely volatility around its first public earnings report, investors may be better served waiting for greater clarity on commercial execution and a more attractive entry point after the second-quarter results.
