BATON ROUGE, La. - Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple is advising residents to prepare for heavy rainfall and potential localized flooding later this week as meteorologists track a tropical disturbance in the eastern Gulf.
On Sunday, Billings hit 111 degrees and Miles City was one of the hottest places in Montana at 114. 90s and thunderstorms are due for the rest of the week.Â

Extreme Heat Advisories are in effect through 9 pm tonight / 2 AM tomorrow in the Bozeman, Great Falls, Glasgow, and Jordan areas. Livingston, Billings, Miles City, and Sheridan are under Extreme Heat Warnings through midnight/ 2 AM.Â
Today, Montana saw highs return to the 80s and 90s state-wide. Billings saw some of the hottest conditions today to the mid-90s. Afternoon rain and isolated thunderstorms returned to the southwest this afternoon, before phasing east this evening. No Watches, Warnings, or Advisories are in place for Montana this evening.Â

This weekend's multi-day storm dumped multiple inches of rain on most of western Montana and even several inches of snow at higher elevations in the southwest mountains.
WYOMING — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) District 5-Northwest Wyoming announced the Beartooth Highway will close at 5 p.m. from Long Lake to the Montana/Wyoming state border because of expected snow and strong wind.
