(The Center Square) – California cities targeted in a new lawsuit are pushing back against claims from Attorney General Rob Bonta that they failed to comply with the state's mandate on affordable housing.

Bonta announced enforcement actions last week against Calexico, Costa Mesa, Half Moon Bay, Ridgecrest and Turlock for noncompliance with the California Housing Element Law.
