(The Center Square) – Arkansas-based Tyson Foods has announced plans to end operations at the company’s beef facility in Joslin, Illinois, impacting about 2,500 workers east of the Quad Cities.

According to a company statement, Tyson will anchor its beef business around three facilities in Nebraska, Kansas and Texas amidst a major cattle shortage.
