In partnership with the Iowa Department of Education, National Math Stars is honoring the state’s most advanced young mathematicians.
This is the first year students from Albia have qualified. The students listed below scored in the top two percent of all third grade students in mathematics on the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress in spring 2026.
National Math Stars
Logan Askland, Jane Judge, Breyer Scholtus
These students are now National Math Stars Nominees and are invited to apply for the free, 10‐year enrichment program, which provides:
Expert mentorship and advanced math courses
Financial support for enrichment opportunities (e.g., STEM summer camps)
Family advising to help you navigate your child’s academic journey
Community gatherings with other mathematically extraordinary students and their families
The students will be honored June 3 at 6:50 p.m. at the Albia high school girls softball field.
