Albia Chamber Main Street is proud to announce the 2026 Restoration Days celebration, a week‑long community festival dedicated to honoring Albia’s heritage, strengthening community pride, and showcasing the ongoing revitalization of our historic downtown district. This year’s theme, “Restoring Albia’s Heart, One Brick at a Time,” reflects both Albia’s rich past and its forward‑looking commitment to restoration, creativity, and connection.
Restoration Days will take place Aug. 24–29, offering six days of activities that highlight history, culture, local businesses, entertainment, and community spirit.
WEEK‑LONG CELEBRATION
ROOTED IN HISTORY – Aug. 24–29
A full week dedicated to Albia’s story and the people who shaped it. Activities include the Retail Brick Passport Challenge, the “Why I Love Albia” Brick Activity, and a Self‑Guided Historic Walking Tour .
DAILY HIGHLIGHTS
Design Day – Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m.
A celebration of Main Street design, building character, and envisioning what’s possible.
Featuring MSI: “Elevating Albia’s Historic Character: Design Services, Storefront Tips, and Success Stories” at the King Opera House.
Taste of the World Day – Wednesday, Aug. 26
A multicultural celebration featuring a Progressive Meal that brings global flavors to Albia’s historic square.
Celebrate Local – Thursday, Aug. 27 at 4 p.m.
A day dedicated to Albia’s businesses, makers, artists, and the heartbeat of our local economy.
Events include the Farmers Market (4–6 p.m.) and Music on the Square featuring Consumed by Fire (6 p.m.)
Homecoming & Heritage – Friday, Aug. 28 at 9 a.m.
A reflective day celebrating school spirit, reunions, and Albia’s historic legacy.
Activities include the Quilt Show (9 a.m.–5 p.m.), Class Reunions (2 p.m.), Guided Historic Walking Tour (4 p.m.), and Tailgate Party with live entertainment beginning at 5 p.m. with Jennifer Lynn Handling and the Revolution then BRNT taking the stage at 8 p.m.
