HOUMA, La. — The National Weather Service confirmed that three separate EF1 tornadoes touched down across southeastern Louisiana between Wednesday night and Thursday morning during Tropical Storm Arthur.
The first tornado struck Houma at approximately 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, staying on the ground for roughly one minute. Packing peak winds of 95 mph, the system left debris scattered across multiple yards. The broader tropical disturbance brought heavy rainfall and flooding to southern Louisiana, though no fatalities were reported from the Houma tornado.
At about 12:32 a.m. Thursday, a second tornado touched down in the Jefferson Parish community of Avondale. That system lasted for about two minutes and carried peak wind speeds of 90 mph.
A final tornado hit Bridge City, also in Jefferson Parish, at around 12:42 a.m., remaining on the ground for 16 minutes. It registered peak wind speeds of 95 mph.
No injuries were reported from any of the three storms.Â
