SHREVEPORT, La. -The Shreveport Fire Department is investigating a house fire on the 4000 block of Marion Place in Shreveport.
We're told firefighters received a 911 call about a house fire at 6:20 a.m. on Sunday morning. When firefighters arrived on scene, crews witnessed heavy smoke from the rear of a one-story residential building.
The Shreveport Fire Department says the only person inside the house, was also the one who made the original 911 call. The caller escaped the home safely before fire crews arrived and was later transported to a local hospital. They were last reported to be in stable condition.
A total of 24 firefighters from 10 units responded to the fire. No firefighters were injured.Â
Investigators with the Fire Prevention Bureau believe the fire started inside the back corner of the house.
