BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Louisiana State Troopers Association and Louisiana State Police Superintendent Col. Robert P. Hodges honored the late Margaret Shehee Cole during a luncheon in Bossier City on Thursday.
Hodges posthumously presented Cole with the Superintendent’s Award for Excellence during the Shoot for the Blue After Action Luncheon. Cole was a friend to area law enforcement.
The association president said Cole was instrumental in getting the Shoot for the Blue Fundraiser off the ground.
Her family accepted the award on her behalf.
"She touched a lot of lives," said her husband, David Cole. "And I think that when you go to these events where she is recognized and remembered, it is just overwhelming how many people's lives she's touched."
Cole, a prominent Shreveport business leader and philanthropist, died in February at the age of 64.
She served as the president of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Homes and was a respected figure in the Louisiana business community. Beyond her professional leadership, she was widely recognized for her extensive civic involvement and her dedication to youth development programs throughout the state.
