NATCHITOCHES, La. — Thousands gathered at Northwestern State University's Prather Coliseum this weekend for the 46th annual Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival, showcasing the region's diverse cultural heritage through music, crafts, and demonstrations.

Operating under the theme "America the Beautiful," the multi-day event highlighted the unique cultural influences shaping Louisiana and the nation. Festival Director Dr. Shane Rasmussen emphasized the event's ongoing significance to the community, noting, "Folk tradition, folklife is alive and well, and really it's kind of the heartbeat of our culture."
