SHREVEPORT, La. - Visit Shreveport-Bossier was awarded with the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) seal by Destinations International in recognition of the organization's commitment to industry excellence and meeting the industry standards for performance and accountability of destination organizations around the world.
“We are pleased to have Visit Shreveport-Bossier renew their accreditation with our distinguished group of certified organizations,” said Don Welsh, President and CEO of Destinations International. “The industry distinction defines quality and performance standards for destination organizations, and I look forward to continuing to work with them within DMAP community.”
The accreditation program requires a destination organization to successfully comply with a set of rigorous mandatory and voluntary standards that span a variety of performance areas to gain and retain this momentous achievement. The standards cover nearly all aspects related to the management and marketing of destination organizations including governance, finance, human resources, sales, communications, destination development and research. Visit Shreveport-Bossier is internationally recognized alongside the ranks of nearly 200 destination organizations worldwide that have obtained DMAP accreditation.
“Renewing our DMAP accreditation is an important milestone because it reflects Visit Shreveport-Bossier’s commitment to building a stronger future for our entire community through tourism,” said Stacy Brown, President & CEO of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “By aligning our work with both the rigorous standards required through DMAP and the strategic vision outlined in our 10-year Destination Masterplan, we are creating a roadmap for long-term economic success and improved quality of life for our cities.”
In 2025, Visit Shreveport-Bossier proved that tourism strengthens communities. Last year, visitors generated an estimated $998.1 million in spending across Caddo and Bossier parishes, reinforcing the strength of the local economy. With the recent addition of the Destination Development and Film & Entertainment departments, along with multiple staff promotions and accreditations, the organization is well-positioned to support future growth for tourism in Shreveport-Bossier.
